Conversational Implant is an interactive installation where humans become just another resource within a system designed to care for Plectranthus verticillatus, colloquially known as the ‘money plant’.

By engaging with the Conversational Implant chatbot, participants take part in a semi-autonomous care system centred around the plant. Humans, AI, sensors and software converge into a single cyborg organism, dissolving the boundaries between what is considered nature and what is considered technology.

The installation connects a living plant, a custom sensor system and a conversational interface. Through this hybrid setup, care becomes a distributed function—delegated across species, agents and infrastructures.

Conversational Implant was exhibited between 2017 and 2019 at the Design Museum of Barcelona and CosmoCaixa, the Science Museum of Barcelona.
